In response to my own personal curiosity about natural hair products and the market for natural-haired, racially black consumers, I conducted an industry analysis on the black haircare industry over the summer of 2015. The result was a comprehensive report on the marketing implications of a largely social/societal shift on consumer goods. I plan to deepen this line of research through scientific investigation of texture and psychological investigation of consumer choice in why/why not to go natural. Current research interests include Snapchat's role in integrated marketing communication.
